Personal Update
NFL is back! I couldn’t be any happier for its return as I really love the sport. Being a NY Jets fan I know that I will be in for a difficult season as we start the season opener getting trounced by the Ravens.
I typically use this time of year to make sure that my time management skills are up to par because there are a lot of things going on in my world. Besides the typical end-of-year tasks that come with working for yourself, I still have to train clients, Update and improve FITLETE, work around the holiday schedules, and now add in the weekly NFL games that I enjoy watching. Time management is important, and while we all like to consider ourselves to be pretty good at it, there is always an opportunity to look at what habits have formed that don’t align with goals for the future.
Cool Podcast I listened to last week
This isn’t an episode recommendation but a really cool podcast, and actually my favorite podcast. You’ve heard me mention it in the past and I’ve recommended episodes from this production before, but this is a little different.
This show was once only accessible via an Ad-free premium subscription. It is now FREE and open to the public with an ad-support version of the show! This means you can listen to full-length episodes instead of just half-length preview episodes. I will still be keeping my Ad-free subscription
While this show is not directly related to fitness or personal training, it is related to those with a business and entrepreneurship mindset. Let me tell you, if you are in the fitness industry as a trainer or a coach then this is you.
Education and Career tools Update
As we enter September it means there will be a slowdown of the addition of all live in-person & live virtual events. Typically during this month, I start seeing more organizations putting out information that sets themselves up for the beginning of the new year instead of adding more into the last quarter of the year. If you are ready to get your early 2023 plan set up then you can defiantly find them now.
Knowing this happens this is also the time of year when I update the listings for the next year! This resets the event count total as I move them to the archive. At this point in the year, we are sitting at 5,896 events! Unfortunately, this is still below pre-pandemic levels even if it’s only by a little. There is still a lot of university-level events that have not rebooted their annual events since the stoppage in 2020. A lot of their websites still cite the pandemic as a reason for not holding them as well. Maybe in 2023 they will be able to bring them back. Alongside these academic settings halting their participation, there have also been a lot of companies that chose to either abandon their in-person seminars entirely using virtual seminars instead, while others have completely switched to an online course model only. While the organization list did grow by about 100 since last year, there was a total of 160 that made the pivot to online.
