The Top 4 benefits of Failing to Achieve a Goal
Raise Your Hand if You Failed to Achieve Your Main Goal this year.
Raise Your Hand if You Failed to Achieve Your Main Goal this year.
Keep your Hand Raised. With this hand Raised start hopping up and down. While hopping up and down with your hand in the air, slowly make a fist. Now, finally take that fist on your raised hand and start aggressively punching the sky. If you feel up for it you can take it to a whole other level and alternate your arms every few hops. Congrats! you are now Fist pumping like a pro, without music and you look awesome.
Yes, we just turned the hand you (probably shamefully) raised from failing into an awesomely fun fist pumping experience your parents can be proud of. Why? Because, while you might not have achieved your goal you are still pretty damn awesome and clearly full of enough life and energy to not give up on your goal.
It’s nearly the end of December and this is usually the point where most people reflect on the year they just had with all its ups and downs, twists and turns, dead-ends and quick finishes, happy tears and sad tears and ultimately successes and failures that made up the past ~365 days.
Here are the top 4 Benefits of Failing to Achieve a goal
1.Realizing There is No Perfect Program/System
There is No Perfect program, that is the plain old and sometimes painful truth of achieving a goal. It does not matter what program or system you followed, It doesn’t matter if they marketed it as a “results guaranteed” or had a shit ton of real testimonials of people just like you who had amazing successes. You have to come to grips with the fact that no matter the effort you put into it or the desire you have to achieve this goal, if the system/program does not suit you more than decent then you will not achieve the level of success you desire too.
2.Take Ownership and Learn From Your Mistakes
Failing along your journey is not time wasted. Instead think of it as very valuable experience gained. You don’t want to make the same mistakes over and over again; that would actually be a waste of time because deep down you already know it doesn’t work.
This step can actually be surprisingly difficult because majority of the problem you have to convince yourself that you played a significant factor in the failure; but it is a crucial step. Every mistake you made last attempt is great knowledge of what not to do. Believe it or not but, learning what no to do is literally half the battle. If you increase your knowledge of what not to do then every time you try your chances of success increase.
Remember, Doctors find cures for incurable diseases but it takes an accumulated knowledge from failures to reach their high and consistent rate of successes.
3.Embrace Your Strengths
You don’t have to be great at everything and it is an inevitability that there will be something you do quite poorly. Some people say that you should work on and improve your weaknesses in order to find success and avoid failing. You absolutely can follow that advice but only if you do not let it overshadow the abilities that are your strengths!
Your strengths can be your savior, you need to understand what they are and be an animal when it come to using them and even improving them. Chances are the improvements you can make on your strengths will come a lot easier to you and take far less time then working on something you are horrible at.
It might not be worth your time and energy to improve your all of your weaknesses. You might need to find a way to “outsource” those jobs and responsibilities.
4.Finding Your True Self
Every Journey is a chance to grow as a person. Sometimes we make goals with he best intentions but, they don’t really mean anything special to us or we don’t know how to connect them to something that has meaning to us.
It might be cliché to say but, you need to “Find the Why” before you can conquer the How to do something and what you actually you want to do. it’s finding what you really want and who you really are or want to be.
So, you might have failed this year and I know it sucks to come to that conclusion but, it’s not the end of the world and it’s never to late to turn things in a direction that makes you want to fist pump to the sky.
