Personal Update
A lot of times people say that starting is the most difficult part, and this does hold true in some situations, but not all. I think for most of us here the not stopping part is the one that is the hardest. The road gets a little bumpy and the idea of stopping always seems like it’s the immediate answer to a given situation when in reality it’s more likely a time to remember why you started, evaluate, and keep trying.
Let’s be the ones who just didn’t stop trying.
Fantastic Podcast(s) I listened to last week
RX’D Radio Episode 358: Programming, Exercise Selection, and Load Management
Show Notes: Shallow, Mac, and Thayer assemble on the podcast to discuss programming considerations in exercise selection, load management, interference effect, and muscular co-contractions. The group leans into some of the nuance and nonsense seen in the fitness industry when it comes to exercise implementation and decision-making.
Business Breakdowns Episode 94: Orangetheory Fitness: A Franchise HIIT
Show Notes: This is Matt Reustle and today we are breaking down the fitness franchise, Orangetheory. I have wanted to do a deep-dive on franchising for a while now and I always knew who the guest would be. I’m joined by a man fully dedicated to all things franchisee and franchisor - the Wolf of Franchises.
We talked through the origin story of Orangetheory and the tech-enabled concept that helped differentiate them during the boutique group fitness boom. Wolf walks me through the economics for both the franchisees and the franchisor – and he helps compare this to the rest of the franchise system throughout the conversation.
Last week I was a guest on a podcast! I’m excited for it to come out and when it does I will share it here!
