Personal Update
It’s been exactly 2 weeks since I went to the conference and I am still marinating on the ideas, topics discussed and people I talked with. Last week I got a chance to speak with a friend of mine Laura from Ireland. We met while attending a conference in 2022(imagine that making friends at a conference) and then again this year at the same conference, but we didn’t get a chance to catch up in person. A week after the conference had ended, and everyone returned home we hopped on a video call to catch up. After our chat, it felt like some of the same productive energy that was sparked from the conference continued throughout my week. It was a great reminder that an agendaless chat about shared experiences and life, in general, can be an invigorating thing. I don’t often like to talk on the phone, but maybe setting aside time in my week to disconnect from my day-to-day work and reconnect with friends in a one-on-one call can be something I look to add. I already do this in person with a friend for breakfast every Thursday, so I don’t know why it took me this long to realize the benefits might extend further. Sometimes you have to force your own hand.
Fantastic Podcast(s) I listened to last week
