The Monday Report
May 6| It's the 5th Month of the year and the amount of things I want to do are adding up. How are you doing? Are you moving the needle?
Personal Update
Is anyone else getting tired of social media? By social media, I mean Instagram; I barely exist in my accounts on other sites, lol. I had this same feeling in 2016 with Facebook and have stayed off it almost entirely since then. In the last year or so, I have used Meta Business Suite to keep up with messages and maintain the business side of the Facebook accounts, but I don’t use it. I think I am getting there with Instagram now. It’s more or less for the same reasons, too. I like messages, but I wish the rest of it would go away. Maybe it’s just me. It’s not that I don’t like sharing things; I like to post and ghost, like posting restaurant reviews on Google (I'm a level 7 Local Guide, lol) or my photos on Unsplash. I will probably end up keeping the accounts for business-sharing purposes, exploring how it can be a post-only option, and taking IG off my phone altogether.

Fantastic podcasts I heard last week:
Founders Podcast: #347 How Walt Disney Built His Greatest Creation: Disneyland
Raising Health: Longevity as a Health Asset with Tom Hale
Rx’D Radio: E489: Coaches Vs Personal Trainers with Jordan Jiunta and Jordan Shallow
Sigma Nutrition Radio: #520: How Exercise Impacts Appetite, Food Intake and Adiposity – James Dorling, PhD
Here’s a link to download Snipd, the podcast app I use to make a “notebook” of A.I. transcripts, bookmarks on episodes, and take notes on each podcast I hear! They have a free app you can use or, with this link, you get 1 month of their Premium version for free: 1 Free Month Of Premium Snipd
Professional Update
I am sure you’ve noticed by now, but I upgraded the newsletter location if you haven't! It will forever be “thisweek.fitletes.com,” which matches the newsletter's name. Is it a minor update? Yes. Is it an update that I am excited about? Also, yes. It’s not because of anything significant but more symbolic of how I am trying to position my future efforts around my work. I consider this change like organizing a workspace. It doesn’t do much at the moment, but completing that act can catalyze other beneficial actions towards a goal; that’s important.
On that note, I have also been organizing many areas of my “workspace” to support my projects, and I have found that changing this link was the catalyst for doing that.
Keeping with the “focused on mission” mindset, I have also stopped using Heap and Google Analytics on-site and will switch to Simple Analytics 100% within May. I have been testing it out, and it is easier for me(a team of 1 “human”) to manage. I tell you this because it’s privacy-focused, which means your information is not being trafficked, pinged, pixeled, or shared with other sites. I can still see some good analytics and metrics, but all of the public portions of the site are fully anonymous. The only areas that I will have some reasonable information collected in the future is any logged-in membership-specific information that allows you to personalize your accounts.
While I update more events for the rest of the year, I am also working on the new logged-in profiles for coaches, businesses, and enterprises. Once finished, I will most likely release their availability simultaneously. As stated on the site, you will receive your free account on-site if you signed up for this newsletter.
