Personal Update
This usually goes live early Monday morning but I had to change up this section after a talk with a client this morning. He’s often travelling back and forth from his home country in Europe to the US for business, and has noticed in the last 5+ years there has been a notable shift in how service based businesses here in the US has dramatically gotten worse. He started the conversation with “hey have you ever noticed how some of the tables at these restaurants are just kind of sticky all of a sudden? They raise the prices, but still dont’ care enough to do the little things”
What a reminder that these things DON’T go unnoticed. He’s here at 6 in the morning talking about sticky tables to someone who has little control over how sticky those table are, but it bothered him so much that he not only remembered it, but he made sure TO TELL SOMEONE WHO MIGHT GO TO THAT RESTUARUNT TO NOT GO!
It’s easy to think that just because someone didn’t openly address a complaint to you that it means there are no complaints being said. This mornings conversation shows me otherwise. For a business and industry that relies heavily on referrals we as coaches and personal trainers should take more frequent looks in the mirror.
Fantastic Podcast(s) I listened to last week
This week is going to be a twofer!

He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Certified Athletic Trainer, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who has worked with countless A-List celebrities, professional athletes, as well as the general population.

My Notes: If this introduces you to Charlie I will say you’re welcome. THis show highlights a lot of the good our field can offer the world from the perspective of working with higher level athletes. Charlie might be really a one of a kind talent at what he does, but he also demonstrates the importance of doing things that coaches at all levels can and should be doing with their clients at any level.
'Silly Walk' Science, Trombone-Head Dinosaurs, Museum Secrets Revealed
Show Notes: No real show notes to give.
My Notes: This is a fun show in general because the topics are always so random, but interesting at the same time. I’m really only sharing this episode with you for the first part about the “silly walk” research study. Not because you will start to include them in your workout, prescribe them to clients, but simply to remind you that there is tremendous benefit in getting a client to perform ANY kind of low level activity outside of the gym.
I will leave it there and hope you listen.
