Professional Update
Website
I fixed it! A few website and registration links behaved peculiarly after the new update; they linked to pages that do not exist on my site instead of directing you to the course website or registration page. Luckily, there was a formatting error when I added the new code, ensuring all websites lead to an “https://” prefixed web address. I only noticed this error when doing my site audit through Google and the analytics software. I saw a bunch of link activity routing to my error, “404 page not found” pages, and took a deeper dive into it. Luckily, it was a good test of the systems and, this time, an easy fix.
On that note, if you ever encounter an error on the site, please let me know. I am a man of many errors and humble enough to admit my mistakes and fix them promptly.
FITLETE Radio Podcast
I want to get to know more coaches and share my friendships in this industry since 2010. I have met some fantastic coaches and people surrounding the industry who add value and can benefit from more people knowing their names. While this has been at the starting line for a little while, it's not because of a lack of interest; I enjoy the medium of Podcasts very much. Previously, I had yet to find a show format that I wanted to dive into, and once I did, I had a difficult time finding the technology available to make it happen. I believe I found what I needed to make my show come to life and will be working to finish the background set up.
Fantastic podcasts I heard last week:
The Future Of Fitness: Carl Hardwick- OPEX, ChoachRx & Simplifying Fitness
The Strength Running Podcast: Healthy Knees Masterclass: Knee Health Myths & Injury Prevention with Dr. Howard Luks
Run a Profitable Gym: The Race to the Bottom: How to set your gym apart from competitors.
Here’s a link to download Snipd, the podcast app I use to make a “notebook” of A.I. transcripts, bookmarks within episodes, and take notes on each podcast I hear! They have a free app you can use or, with this link, you get one month of their Premium version for free: 1 Free Month Of Premium Snipd
Personal Update
My own training has been on the back burner for a little while, and I have just been getting in maintenance workouts for a while now, but I feel settled down enough to put some effort into a new program. Since I work for myself, I tend to be the type of person who has the mindset of “if there is time to work, I better be working and productive.”(IS THAT JUST ME?)
I’ve gotten better at taking more significant chunks of time away from working on projects, especially on the weekend. Still, this mindset has started to bleed more and more into the mid-day exercise times that I had previously scheduled in my day. Now that I have recognized it, I can take a realistic look at my day, current habits, and working style and see where to make the most appropriate change. It’s most likely going to a pre-workday lifting session because I don't think I am in a spot to force a more significant change of stopping work on a project midday to hit a lift.
