The Monday Newsletter
February 6th, 2023 | By mid-February, around 80% of new exercisers will have dropped that new plan for the new year.
A sense of duty pursues us ever. It is omnipresenet, like a Diety. If we take to ourselves the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, duty performed or duty violated is still with us, for our happiness or our misery. If we say the darkness shall cover us, in darkness as in the light our obligations are yet with us.

Personal Update
Just over 3 hours of sleep last night. I’m Running on fumes today. Funny enough this used to be my norm but after years of practicing and building habits to get away from it I rarely have these types of nights anymore. I always like to give this a quick once over before sending it out just to make sure I didn’t miss anything major, but this morning I choose to try and as much shut eye as possible.
Days like this are challenges, but not impossible obstacles.
Fantastic Podcast I listened to last week
Strgoner By Science Podcast: Cardio for Health and Weight Management | Episode January 16th, 2023
Show Notes Description: Host Eric takes a comprehensive look at how physical activity and cardiovascular exercise can impact general health and weight management. Specific topics of discussion include non-exercise physical activity, exercise snacks, step counts, appetite, exercise energy compensation, interval versus steady-state cardio, the interference effect, and practical ways to incorporate non-exercise physical activity or structured cardio into your daily or weekly schedule.
My Thoughts: This is one of the best episodes I have ever heard on this topic and it wasn’t in a way that championed one method over others and wasn’t full of jargon. When someone takes on a topic like this they often overlook setting up the terms that they will be talking about. In this episode after the long intro monologue you should skip, Eric quite literally sets up the terms he will be discussing in a way that we should all learn from when we teach things to our clients. Understand who your audience is, and don’t assume they know the definition of the words that you might consider to be common knowledge or basic information.
