FITLETE Professional Update
The Resource Nexus
— Hopefully, you didn’t notice anything this past week. It was mostly a systems update and maintenance week. Luckily, all the systems are built on easy-to-edit systems, and I took the time ahead for time to document well enough to understand what I built; sometimes, all this backend code stuff still looks like gibberish. I had some bugs in the system for the business relationships that were not difficult to fix but a little time-consuming.
This week, I will be back to my regularly scheduled work, which is way less stressful than trying to fix stuff.
FITLETE Radio
— When I paused the release of the first monologue episode in place to share a podcast I was a guest on, I decided I needed to re-record it. I know these things will never be perfect, and I probably should have just put it out, but I will be re-doing it.
— I will be editing and scheduling the next round of Spotlight interviews this week too!
Fantastic podcasts I heard last week:
The Strength Running Podcast: Strength & Age: How to Adapt Your Running As You Get Older, with Dr. Karl Knopf
The Coaches Corner University: The Personal Side of Personal Training - Daniel Yores
Creating The Worlds Best Client Experience: All About Sales with Kayvon Kay
Movement Optimism: Dr Peter Malliaras and Greg talk tendons, tendinopathy and rehab
Sigma Nutrition Radio: #548: Disordered Eating and Body Image in the Fitness Industry – Michelle Carroll
Here’s a link to download Snipd, the podcast app I use to make a “notebook” of A.I. transcripts, bookmarks within episodes, and take notes on each podcast I hear! They have a free app you can use or, with this link, you get 1 month of their Premium version for free: 1 Free Month Of Premium Snipd.
Personal Update
— This past weekend, I did a lot of file organizing, some hobby painting, and finished some physical projects within the HQ. The file organizing part felt like the “spring cleaning” type of energy; man, it was nice to get some organization to my cloud of files and docs. Doing more of the hobby painting is the “New Year’s resolution” because I gotta make sure to take of myself. The finished HQ projects were just the icing on the cake of little things I noticed there. You know, things that aren't necessarily important or revenue-driven “upgrades” are more a part of a standard you are trying to keep for yourself.
—Also, I had my first "fitness industry friend” visit the HQ! Sure, family and friends have visited, and they have all enjoyed the space, and that feels cool, but there was a little hint of my mind saying, “I hope he thinks it’s a good facility,” even though I know it is. lol Sometimes, I laugh at the little moments of senseless but fleeting pressure we can put on ourselves for no reason. I guess that’s just part of the human condition?
