Personal Update
“The key to good decision making is not knowledge. It is understanding. We are swimming in the former. We are desperately lacking in the latter.”
― Malcolm Gladwell, Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
I’m reading this book called Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell and man is it a good one! I haven’t always been a casual reader but it’s something I was carving out time in my day for before taking this new job. I was recently able to get back to it and am reminded why it’s such a good hobby for me. A lot of my hobbies since I was a kid are solitary ones and this works great for me now as an adult because it gives me some dedicated solo time without feeling forced. This hobby of reading is a new one, but it complements my love for making art without the need to be creative. I can get lost in being online and talking with people because I do truly enjoy talking with people, and social media has made that incredibly easy to do, but the chance to sit back and just chill is just as important.
Check out the book too. I’m only about 1/3 of the way through it at this point, but it’s worth picking up.
