Personal Update
It’s a good feeling when you realize people who exist around you are on your side, even when they have no personal stake in your success or failures. Working for yourself can be both incredible for general decision efficiency, normal daily operation, and even when you need to make small changes that push your business in a direction. However, when things aren’t status quo and you need to bounce problem-solving ideas around with someone who knows just as much of the business as you do, the life of a solo operator can be a lonely one. Lonely, not in a sad way, but lonely in the way that you’re the only one talking yourself through and around different problems, options, and solutions.
This week’s really cool podcast to listen to is:
Physical Preparation Podcast with Mike Robertson- June 25ths Episode with Jill Coleman: How to build a successful and rewarding online fitness business.
Jill is an OG in the game and started years ago in a place where many trainers start, the daily hustle and grind with in-person work. She speaks about this history candidly, and it’s refreshing to hear how much of her story connected with my own experiences.
3 of her opinions I connected with most were:
You need to be comfortable with uncertainties.
You have to be serious about your time management.
Start making decisions based on time after you have the experience.
Education & Career Tools Update
We need to communicate with the layperson and doctors, and sometimes about the same topic and about the same things. It’s important for trainers to be competent enough to scale their anatomy & physiology knowledge up and down. New trainers learn, and seasoned trainers, refresh then teach your clients.
