Ads Rating: 60
The ads are quite long and as you progress through the library of episodes they start to ad in the midroll ads as well and are still quite long.
Banter Rating: 75
A lot of the interviews are guests that have been on multiple times or are friends of the host so there is sometimes a very casual nature to the shows. It’s not always a bad thing because it can lead to interesting points, but sometimes it gets off topic too far.
Structure Rating: 85
Purely interview based, I wish they would edit out the double intros, but the casual nature of the episodes does make it sound like a conversation between friends which can make some of the topics sound less mundane.
Podcast Notes Rating: 50
Almost no notes. Just a small paragraph telling you what the episode is going to be about.
Podcast Titles Rating: 80
Decent titles, they included the episode numbers, and topic at hand which is the basics for what you need for the majority of the episodes. Oddly enough some don’t have a show topic included.
Audio Quality Rating: 95
Great audio quality from the hosts and the guests that come on the show. I haven't listened to an episode that sounded really poor yet. Even the few live episodes they have done sound pretty good for being a a much larger setting and being around a group.
My Final Score: C+
I am a long listener of this Podcast. It’s one of the longest standing podcasts that has a personal training and the industry surrounding it. The host does a great job talking with guests on the show as if they are old friends and that makes the casual nature of the show feel way more informative than it sometimes is. That is not saying this show is just for a casual listen, because it has a ton of amazing guests come on. I really wish the show notes were better at explaining what is going to be discussed in the episodes. At least the titles are great, they let you know episode #, guest and main discussion theme. He does have more ad on the show now and they can can be a little lengthy at times. You would find some real gems if you browse the library of episodes. At the time of this initial review he has recorded close to 500 shows so if you are looking for a quality show this one is going to be one to explore.
