FITLETE’s Professional Update
The Personal Trainers Resource Nexus: I don’t like calling these things on the website “directories;” It seems too uptight. I asked Perplexity AI to help me find a better name that felt more like me. We (I? lol) came across the phrase “Resource Nexus”, and I liked it not only because it sounds more concise and modern but also because I can easily explain what it means, which was a struggle for me when someone would ask “what is FITLETE?”. I felt Nexus fit because the concept of a Nexus emphasizes the importance of connections and relationships across various fields and disciplines. You will see these words more; I just wanted to alert you.
Nexus Defined: A nexus is a central link or connection, often used to describe where different ideas or elements intersect.
Website: December updates are taking place! This means I’m preparing for 2025, which creeps closer and closer by the second. At the very least, all first-quarter-annual events will be updated for inclusion and accuracy, and then I will start with multi-date seminars. This month's most significant feature update is not about new data coming in but more about how you interact with it. I recently updated the ability to filter results in both the maps and tables instantly, and it significantly improved your ability to find what you need. Applying multiple search criteria to see something particular to your needs has been at the root of my goal from the beginning. It started in just months, and it worked really well as I figured out how I wanted to move forward. I just created MY BEST filters ever! These new filters eliminate search queries that result in blank tables and maps. This means you will never be able to search for something that doesn’t exist in the data.
How will it work? It won’t act any different than what you see today, so your experience will be familiar with what you’re using now. What it does do is create a connection between the dropdown selections available; this means when you make a selection for, say, January, then EVERY SINGLE OTHER DROPDOWN WILL POPULATE WITH OPTIONS THAT ONLY EXIST WITH JANUARY IN THE DATA!!. Before, when you made a selection in one of the dropdowns, none of the other dropdowns would update, leading to you making a selection for other dropdowns based on all the data instead of just your selections data.
So now, if you want to be hyper-specific in your search, you can. Your search can look like this: I want to find a two-day event in February, starting the 21st, in Plano, Texas, USA, with a virtual attendance option and a cost of around $500. (This search will lead you HERE)
This type of search will first be available in the events directory and then expand to other site areas.
Business Relationship Pages: The first episode of the Spotlight Interviews featured a surprise reveal that HOMEFIT’s Licensed Trainer Program will officially work with FITLETE. This news further opens a new site section highlighting those companies we work with. This information will sit outside of the directory listings and live onsite as a nexus between you(the user) and the organization. They will exist to explain specific aspects of products, services, and offerings. Your information is not directly shared or sold to these organizations. You will have the option to connect with companies like HOMEFIT if you choose to. Here is a first look:
More is coming on this front next year.
