Ads Rating: 95
Only some self promotion intros and outros that do not disrupt the content of the episodes
Banter Rating: 95
It’s refreshing to hear a show that allows for banter to flow right with the show topics so easily that it doesn't seem at all like banter.
Structure Rating: 95
They do a good job keeping the shows a consistent experience depending on the type of episode they out out. they have Live Q&As, research reviews, blog article readings, live streams, and Interviews.
Podcast Notes Rating: 95
Almost all of their episodes are timestamped by question or topic in all the episodes that require them. If they are reading an article from their blog they will link related links to the articles so you can navigate directly to them from your podcast player. I know their research review podcasts act as a promotion for their monthly research review product, but I wish they would give a better written breakdown of what the episode will cover. They tend to not take show notes for their live stream episodes.
Podcast Titles Rating: 90
The titles are almost 100s but they don’t label episodes all the same, which can be a little confusing. for example there is pain and rehab episode #5 between episodes #63 and #64, some of the Q&As are not numbered as regular episodes.
Audio Quality Rating: 95
Any episode that is a solo host has outstanding audio quality, the in person Q&As is also surprisingly good for the majority of the episodes, and the interview episodes are really consistent with their sound quality on all sides.
My Final Score: A+
This show should be a model for how to produce a high quality educational podcast. I do give you warning in advance that this show contains a lot of scientific jargon, and I recommend brushing up on some of the lingo before diving into their audio content. If you are not ready for it, it can take away from the show because some of the stuff will take a second of two longer to actually sink in before you grasp the info.
