August 5th | The Monday Report
A New Career tools resource is finally finished! Now that my "slow season" is almost over, I want to use this time to thank all the friends I have made, connected with, re-connected with and nourished
Professional Update
WE GOT JOBS!
It’s finally finished and ready for action. As I mentioned in Monday's Reports, the layout and filtering across the site will be a unified experience. This job board is meant explicitly for future-focused small businesses, regardless of whether they are brick-and-mortar, fully remote online, or a combination of both you can make.
The main goal is to centralize job postings, graduate assistantships, internships, and apprenticeships throughout the industry into an easily searched directory.
This job board is designed to function independently. However, you are not required to exclusively post on FITLETE. You can also advertise your job on other job sites such as ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, Indeed, or even your company's website. When adding your job to FITLETE, simply include the application link in the "how to apply" section to guide candidates through the application process.
In 2024, finding candidates should not be a headache or stress your budget. Anyone can add unlimited job postings to their Free membership for $10 per Year.
Fantastic podcasts I heard last week:
It was a Founders Podcast by David Senra marathon for me this past week. I needed it.
I took some pretty awesome notes and highlights on these episodes. I used Snipd App like always, and you can not only read little recaps of my notes but also listen to the 1-minute highlights that I made for these episodes. Check them out.
Here’s a link to download Snipd, the podcast app I use to make a “notebook” of A.I. transcripts, bookmarks within episodes, and take notes on each podcast I hear! They have a free app you can use or, with this link, you get 1 month of their Premium version for free: 1 Free Month Of Premium Snipd
Personal Update
I think it’s important to try and carve out time for friends and non-working time. I like working and sometimes can get lost in the things I want to complete, but this summer I have made more strides to re-align my non-working time for friends and taking care of my star player(myself). I recently had lunch with someone I became friends with in Miami almost 10 years ago. While we both live and work in Miami, we mostly keep in touch strictly via social media. The reason for that…no idea because we have always got along and have similar interests. It’s moments like this that give you that mild slap in the face to get out of your own way. It was a refreshing reminder, especially since my Miami local friend’s circle had been shaken up these past couple of years.
