Personal Update
— This week involved a lot of “side work.” To me, side work is tasks necessary to do the main work I want to do. For example, I have no desire to be on camera or in exercise videos, but if I want to grow my online training app and serve both in-person and online clients, I need to create content like exercise demos. I understand this is part of the work, but sometimes I think, “this wasn’t what I signed up for” when I originally wanted to be a coach and trainer. I wanted to focus on training people, not on setting up, recording, editing, re-shooting, and publishing videos. Still, completing this “side work,” such as videos, helps me serve my clients better and improves the quality of my coaching. It allows me to excel as a coach, and the better I am at coaching, the more impactful I can be for my clients.
Do you ever get taken aback by the amount of “side work” you have to do?
