Personal Update
— I’ve said this before, but whenever I get the opportunity to work with someone new, I get excited like I did when I got my first client almost 15 years ago. Last week, a friend of mine, who is also a trainer, reached out and asked if I had any availability in my schedule. He had moved away from Miami, and a former client of his had reached out to inquire about training. I met with that person this past weekend, and she is now in my client roster! The lead was a warm one and referred by someone she trusted, but it still feels a special kind of way that I was able to meet a stranger, and convince them to trust me with their goals simply by being my most authentic self. Sales used to be something that I felt “yucky” about needing to do because I didn’t want to sell; I just wanted to help. However, that’s not how this whole thing works. It wasn’t until I started ONLY being myself 100% of the time in a consult that the sales part just felt like another part of a conversation instead of this weird, uncomfortable part of one.
