9/23 The Monday Report
I can embrace change and evolve significantly, yet this transformation doesn’t require me to lose my true self. This is the thought that summed up my weekend trip to Detroit.
Professional Update
After making some edits to the web application's backend, I upgraded the user experience software I was using to host your account profiles. It is the same company but a newer and more robust version of their software. I use a company called Memberstack. It has some pretty cool features, but Version 2.0 is vastly different from Version 1.0, so when making the updates I had to export profile information and add it back in once ready. Well, I am now prepared to do that and will re-import your profiles into the new software version.
Why are you telling me this?
You will most likely receive new “welcome emails” this week stating that your account creation was successful. Then, you will receive another email with a temporary password to log in. Once you log in for the first time, you can update it.
Everyone here will be added as a Free member. This free membership is the standard membership level that gives you access to everything currently available. (The Jobs posting membership add-on is available from here, too, if you want to upgrade to it for $10/yearly.)
Fantastic podcasts I heard last week:
Here’s a link to download Snipd, the podcast app I use to make a “notebook” of A.I. transcripts, bookmarks within episodes, and take notes on each podcast I hear! They have a free app you can use or, with this link, you get 1 month of their Premium version for free: 1 Free Month Of Premium Snipd
Personal Update
I went to a wedding this past weekend in Detroit. I had never been to this city before, and the downtown Detroit area was such a stimulating place. Coming from Miami, there is a good mix of Art Deco buildings and design( a design style I enjoy), and Miami Beach is known for being “Art Deco,” but no one told me about these old buildings in Detroit!! What a surprise. While the area seems to be developing and updating, I like that it hasn’t lost its historic look.
Walking around the downtown area with my wife and noticing the state of the places we were walking in, I started to think about how this city's state of change parallels the changes I have gone through. I ended my thoughts: “I can embrace change and evolve significantly, yet this transformation doesn’t require me to lose my true self.” I am still thinking about this a little, and I am curious if you could expand on it and share what it means to you.
