6 Fitness False Idols to remove from your life…Now
There is one thing I know since starting my career in the fitness industry; results take a commitment and hard work over time. There is no short cut or miracle to reach a goal. With that being said here are 6 types of False Idols in the fitness industry to remove from your life immediately. They are a waste of time and only clogging your ability to make sensible judgements and actions because of smart and attractive marketing campaigns.
The Born with a Booty, BootyMaker Chick
This is the girl who grew up for years with a larger than normal buttocks, and only after discovering her own fitness successes, is selling you the way to build a “beauty booty”. The fact she was born with the genetics to have a larger, or shapely bottom half supposedly has nothing to do with what she looks like now. She has the Butt she has now only because of her very special fitness routines and programs. All of her social media pictures show her standing in a way that showcases her bottom, often wears tight leggings or small shorts and has a lot of rear view pictures and videos.
If you believe this then you have to logically also believe that the girl with the large but shapely natural breasts also has a special program that can give you large but shapely natural breasts.
Yes, you can build your glute muscles and you can create a bigger booty if you work it, that is true and documented. But, just because a person has a nice/large shapely bottom doesn’t mean any hard work was put into getting one. Some people are literally born with it. My Dads mother, my father, His sister, My sister and Myself were all born with the genetics to carry larger muscular legs from our calves to hammies and quads The ladies also have larger derrieres. Just because my sister and aunt have them doesn’t mean they know how to make them.
I had Abs when I was 4 years old Guy
Very Very similar to The Born With a Booty, Bootymaker Chick. This guy has had a low amount of body fat, and some or a lot of abdominal muscle definition since a small child. I have a younger cousin that fit this description to the T. When he was about 5 or so years old he had abs. I don’t mean abs like a flat stomach and just skinny, I mean abs like he could have stepped on stage and placed top 5 in a men’s physique competition. He is 20 something now and guess what he still got them. Sure he lifts a little bit but not with the mission or focus of being ripped it just happens.
Nothing against any progress this person has made in other areas of their fitness but just like the Booty Chick just because you were born with them doesn’t mean you know how to create them.
The Ripped upper body Cardio Class/Dance Instructor
I get upset with this one because, 90 percent of dancing is done moving your legs around sometimes quick and sometimes slowly. How did this create muscular biceps, shoulders, back, chest and abs? These people sell their dance programs and DVDs as a one size fits all program and use their own body and the bodies of the background people as an example of what you can achieve.
So, I am supposed to believe that these people in the infomercial transformed their flabby upper body to a muscular upper body by dancing a solo dance with their TV for a couple hours a week? If that is the case then it would be logical to think that if all I did was bicep curls, I would eventually have larger quads.
The Supplements Endorser
There is no Supplement that does what hard work and commitment to the process will do. These Supplement endorsing people will tell you the opposite. They will make claims and promote that they saw results strictly because of using a certain product or brand. Then entice you to try it out while also getting a discount with their special code. This code is not a friendly “hey I love this and they love me” code. It is an affiliate coupon, which means they collect a commission of some sort when you use the code to make your purchase.
Instead of wasting your time and money buying what they endorse in hopes to find the magic secret to your own success, go to the gym and put in some quality work over the next year. Spend the money you would have wasted on their products on a trip or grand prize for yourself when you actually reach your goals.
The Skimpy Gym Gear Chick
Only thing I can say is that this person is not selling fitness. They are making attempts at selling sex through fitness. If you were selling fitness or motivation there is no reason to take a picture of yourself with the camera over your head staring down your sports bra. It's acceptable social media Porn is all. What other purpose is there for showing your followers(stalkers) a High Definition photo of yourself just getting out of the shower or of your butt while you’re doing hamstring curls and squats in leggings?
If you are taking a progress pic sure there might be a need to showcase the progress you’re proud of but these pictures are every once in a while and not your entire profile.
The Fake/Failed Model turned Brand Ambassador
This person is often a combo of the supplement endorser and skimpy gym gear chick(or dude). Their social media will be flooded with selfies almost exclusively. Pretty much think Kim Kardashian but with less money, trying to capitalize on their sexuality by promoting anything someone will pay them to promote. Some pictures are professionally taken photos but there are a lot that are not. The amateur ones are meant to give off that they are not being paid but just happen to take this picture supporting every product in the companies catalog. My Favorite ones to laugh at are the ones with shaker cups. For the guys, they are usually flexing the cannons while taking a sip and the ladies are holding it near their stomach or even better by their butts . Classic product placement.
Follow these suggested removals from your life and you will be on your way to reaching your very own goals. Also, with all of their crappy content out of your way there is now room for some quality experts in the field to make their way into your lives.
