Ads Rating: 70
Their shows are pretty long but this seems to be in part because of their ad placements within the show introduction and then 1 or 2 mid episode ads. as well. Once positive is that their mid episode ads don’t seem to cut off in the middle of a question.
Banter Rating: 90
The only time that the episode seems to lose track is in the intro. It’s hard to say that it is a bad part of the episode because it does fit the conversational style of the show well once they get going on topic.
Structure Rating: 80
Their recent release schedule seems to stick to about one new show every 2 weeks. 3DMJ is a team of coaches and the episodes are typically hosted by either 2 or 3 coaches for all their episodes. They have few different episode types but they all feel like they are just conversations between the hosts. The Q&A and guest interview episodes are few and far between. If you like hearing stories from the perspective of different people on a subject then you will probably like this show.
Podcast Notes Rating: 95
Great show notes. They started timestamping their episodes with plain text timestamps since episode number 55, some recent episodes are even timestamp links!. The episode descriptions are in depth and not just introductions of the hosts and or guests. The episodes include the timestamps and a general introduction of the topics that will be discussed. Any resources they discuss are also linked in the show notes so you can easily find something they reference in conversation.
Podcast Titles Rating: 95
All episodes are numbered and the titles are descriptive enough that you know it will be a Q&A, interview, or general discussion episode.
Audio Quality Rating: 90
Audio quality is great for all their episode types. Some of the earlier episodes have some variability.
My Final Score: B+
Everything around bodybuilding training and nutrition. The best show description would be say it’s just 3 friends having a conversation. A conversation that just so happens to be between highly educated individuals and around structured talking points. They don’t only talk in jargon which makes it a bit more easy to listen to without needing to take notes or look up words mid episode. They answer the questions and topics fully and each host will contribute their point of view or opinions even if they don’t always agree with each other 100% of the time.
